BBCode help

Below is a list of BBCode tags available in ClassMarker.

Tags can be used in both your questions and answers to format text into:

Bold, italic, underlined, line through, subscript x2, superscript x2, and colored.

You can also link to external websites and recourses (such as PowerPoint[TM] documents), images and embed YouTube[TM] videos.

How to Embed YouTube Videos
A typical YouTube link will look something like this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0z2i83fmMk&feature=popular

Note the v=X0z2i83fmMk part within the link.
You need to copy the X0z2i83fmMk part only and paste that into the Embed a YouTube video BBCode popup to embed your YouTube Video.

Troubleshooting your BBCode

1) The most important thing to remember with BBCode is, every starting tag must have an ending tag.

So if you have a [b] tag, it must be followed by a [/b] at some point in the same text box.

2) The second most important thing to remember with BBCode is, all BBCode tags should be well-formed, that is, tags need to open and close respectively in the order they appear, first opened = last closed.

Tick

Well-formed BBCode

[b]All bolded and [u]some underlined[/u] text here[/b]

Produces - All bolded and some underlined text here

Badly formed BBCode

[b]some bolded and [u]some[/b] underlined[/u] text here[/b]

Produces - Some bolded and some underlined text here

Note: The [u] tag does not have a closing [/u] tag within the [b] tags

Remember: If your question shows the text [b], instead of bolding your text, check for tags that are not well-formed or simply start the question again.

OK your turn now!
Have a practice with the code below and preview your changes.

  1. Type a question
  2. Highlight some text
  3. Select a BBCode button to add the BBCode tags around the text
  4. Preview your masterpiece
