Celebrating 20 Years of Online Testing
Wed 24th Jun 2026< Back to Blogs and Tutorials

This year marks 20 years since ClassMarker first launched.
When we started in 2006, online testing looked very different. Smartphones were still new, remote work wasn't common, and most assessments were still being delivered on paper or through software installed on local computers.
Our goal was simple: create an online testing platform that was reliable, easy to use, and flexible enough for different types of organizations.
Twenty years later, that goal hasn't really changed.
Over the years, we've seen ClassMarker used in ways we never could have imagined. Teachers have used it to assess students. Companies have used it for staff training and compliance programs. Certification providers have delivered professional exams. Organizations around the world have found their own ways to use the platform.

While technology has changed significantly, some things have remained constant. People want assessments that work when they need them to work. They want accurate results, fair testing conditions, and tools that don't get in the way of the task at hand.
That's largely what we've focused on for the past two decades.
A platform shaped by you
Many of the features in ClassMarker today exist because customers asked for them.
Question banks, certificates, custom branding, integrations, enhanced security options, reporting tools, and countless smaller improvements have all been influenced by customer feedback over the years.
Some organizations have been using ClassMarker for well over a decade. Watching those customers grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
To everyone who has created a quiz, delivered an exam, reported a bug, suggested an improvement, contacted support, or recommended ClassMarker to a colleague—thank you.
Your feedback has helped shape the platform more than you may realize.
