Share results to demonstrate results!

Marcia, a HR training specialist enhances her training program's effectiveness by integrating user IDs with test results. Results are exported in real-time to the organization's website to demonstrate impact.

Enhancing training programs with ClassMarker

Integrating user IDs with test results offers several significant benefits:

  • Personalized tracking: By associating test results with individual user IDs, you can closely monitor each employee's progress and customize improvement strategies.
  • Improving user experience: You can send user details to ClassMarker to save users having to fill in their name and email address before they start the exam (should you select to require their details).
  • Enhanced security and confidentiality: Linking test results to user IDs ensures that sensitive employee performance data is accessed only by ID (not name).
  • Demonstrable ROI by staff cohort: Organizing staff IDs into cohorts can be critical for evaluating and justifying investments in employee development in specific areas.
  • Facilitates compliance and reporting: Integration and real-time reporting ensures that all training records are up-to-date and readily available for audits or reviews.

How to integrate and export user IDs & test results

User ID Integration

By appending a 'cm_user_id' value to the exam link, Marcia could accurately track each participant's progress. You can use the cm_user_id string to:

  • track exam takers from your system by ID (for example, cm_user_id=123)
  • track where a user came from on your website (for example, cm_user_id=course7)
  • track a combination of both (for example, cm_user_id=123-course7)

This integration is crucial for real-time data export to the organization's website, showcasing the training program's effectiveness.

Integration and Restriction

Use GET or POST methods to send details like ‘first name, ‘last name’, ‘email’, and 'cm_user_id' for user identification. You can ensure exam access is restricted to those with a 'cm_user_id', enhancing security and data accuracy.

You can also limit each user to one attempt only per exam in the exam link settings.

&cm_fn=John
&cm_ln=Smith
&cm_e=john@example.com
&cm_user_id=123

Exporting Data

ClassMarker provides two efficient methods to export results into .CSV files:

  • Export via the Export Page:
    • Navigate to 'Groups and Links' and select 'Export'.
    • Use the various filters to customize the data export, including the 'Export Group results' option.
  • Export via the Results Section:
    • Access 'Tests, Groups, or Links' and click 'Results'.
    • From the 'Actions' button, select 'Export results', choosing between test scores only or including selected answers.

Handling Special Characters and Filters

Different languages use different character sets. Ensure data integrity by using UTF-8 character sets, especially when dealing with multiple languages.

Tips

Try changing the "character set" setting to UTF-8 when opening the .CSV files in your Spreadsheet program.

Try changing the FONT to a font that supports all the characters in your export file. For example the font “Helvetica Neue” supports many different characters beyond the standard english characters set.
