Question 1
Read the selection below about a game. Then answer the

questions that follow.

Travel Champ

1 Here is a game that you can play when you are traveling in the car. On

paper or cardboard, draw a card similar to a bingo card. Make five rows of

squares across and five columns of squares down. Put the letters C, H, A, M,

and P across the top, one for each column. In the middle space, write the word

FREE. On the other squares, write the names of things someone might see

while traveling. You could write these: red car, black cow, yellow flower, stop

sign, police car, the word hotel on a sign. You will need enough things for each

square. Make several cards. Be sure that no two cards are exactly alike.

2 You can use buttons or any other small objects for markers. To play, give

each person a card and several markers. Everyone can cover the free square

right away. Look out the window while you are riding to see the items on your

card. Cover that space when you see that item.

3 The first player to cover five squares in a row wins. You can win by

covering squares across, down, or diagonally. The winner becomes the Travel

Champ. Keep score for each game, and declare a grand champion at the end

of the day. To make the game more challenging, play a blackout version. The

winner must cover all the squares on a card.
