Reopen and Resume Test options:

If you find a Test taker has started an exam, but did not finish it, perhaps they had internet or computer issues, you have the following options available to allow them to continue and finish their exam.

Reopen a Finished Exam Attempt

Groups: When you reopen a finished Exam, your Test taker simply needs to log back into their account and they will see a 'Resume' button for that Exam to reopen the Test and complete it again.

Links: When you reopen a finished Exam, you are given the option to Create a unique Resume Exam Link, you will send them this Resume Exam Link which they will use to access & complete the Exam.

  1. Go to the user's individual results page.

  2. Click on the blue 'Reopen' button that is displayed right above the answers that the user has provided.
  3. A message box will open displaying the following message:

"You can set this Test back to a status of "In Progress" so it can be resumed again.

After you select the "Reopen Test" button below, you will then be able to create a unique "Resume Test" link to give to this Test taker so they can open and resume this Test.

Reopening this Test and allowing it to be resumed will not use another credit.

Note: Reopening this Test will remove the Score and Finished Date until the Test is again finished and regraded."

Confirm the reopening of the Test by clicking on 'Reopen Test'.

Create a Resume Exam Link

* Only required for Links, not Groups.

If an exam is Reopened, or was not Finished in the first place, you can create a unique resume link for the Test taker to use to log in and finish their exam.

  1. Go to the user's individual results page and click Resume Link.

When you click to expand this option, it will display:

"If this Test Taker is having trouble resuming this Test, or the "Resume and finish later" option was not set, you can create a unique "Resume Test Link" to give them so they can resume and finish this Test.

Reopening this Test and allowing it to be resumed will not use another credit."

Please Note: The link can be used only one time. So, please do not test it to make sure it works as it will then become invalid.

  2. Click on the blue button 'Create Resume Link'. Your link has now been created to provide to your test-taker.
